3 John 1:2 KJV: “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
I spent many years trying to figure out why I wasn’t successful in certain areas. It finally hit me after having seen it in the Word so many times but ignoring it. You can only truly prosper at the level of the health of your soul. When we look at the world’s way of prospering, it is with toil and no certainty. God’s version of prospering is wrapped up in wholeness and true security within Him. When you look at the world, they prosper but they end up losing other things as a result. They can’t have it “all”. With God, we can. However, we can’t chase the world if we want to have it “all”. We have to care about the salvation of our souls and our relationship with the Lord. When we put that first, everything else falls into place.
- Have I placed any priority above my relationship with God? If so, what in my heart has made me chase this thing above my relationship with God?
- What does God’s way of prospering look like in my life?
Confession/Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for Your love. If there is anything that I have put ahead of you, I repent. Help me to see the power of prospering Your way and not the world’s way. Everything found in You is based in wholeness. I thank You that my mind is whole and renewed based on the Word of God. I thank You that with You, I can have it “all”. I receive healing, wholeness, and abundance in every area of my life. Amen.
