Psalm 28:7 NLT: “The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.”

How do you press daily in the life God has called you to live? You stop living through yourself. This was the greatest key that helped me to unlock God’s best for my life. I was so used to depending on myself for everything. That’s how it is in the life of sin. You do it all on your own. You try to find love on your own. You look at life through YOUR filter and not God’s filter. Everything is about YOU. However, when you come to Christ, it’s about HIM and HIS love for you. Guess what is found in His love? His strength! You don’t have enough strength on your own to push through life’s storms and circumstances. We think we do but we end up burnt beyond belief, no real rest, and we are stressed because we don’t have God to lean on. This is why you must learn how to PRESS into His strength and His joy. Joy is a keeping agent within our lives as believers. Joy is when we rejoice in the love that God has for us and His promises. Happiness is not joy. Happiness is when we feel good due to an emotional response of what is currently happening. Happy is all that the world can give. They can’t give you joy because joy is truly a supernatural power and resting place. Live in joy today.

  • What do you need strength in right now?
  • What song will you play today to praise God?

Confession/Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for the strength that You give me. I find my strength within Your love and Your Word. I will not depend upon myself. I depend on You. Let me not fall to my own knowledge thinking that I know all things. Instead, I trust in You. Wherever I go, I know that I am not alone because You are with me. You are the strength and power working on the inside of me. You help me to accomplish all things because the Holy Spirit is at work within me. Get the glory out of my life as I trust in you. Amen.
