Romans 12:2 – Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

You can not know the will of God until your mind has been transformed. For a long time, I would try to do things my way thinking that God would show me the path. However, my eyes were covered by my disobedience and a heart that was not focused on Him. God loves us like crazy. Crazy in meaning that it doesn’t even make sense how much love He has for us.

Because of His love for us, we have to keep our minds literally focused on that love. If not, we begin to entertain ideas from the world that taint us seeing what He has for us. That’s why Romans 12:2 is so key for us as believers. We have to stay transformed so that we can discern. What is discernment? It’s the ability to judge a situation and see it through the truth based perspective. Discernment is knowing that this may look good but my Spirit man is speaking to me and saying that this is not the way I should go. This is why we must stay transformed.

I want to encourage you that walking with God is the smartest decision you can make because you’ve decided to walk on the side of LIFE. Continue to stay focused on God’s way of living and thinking.

Matthew 6:30-33 says this in the Message Version: “If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.

God-reality. God-initiative. God-provision. That’s what a renewed mind walks in. Those three things. I love that word STEEP.

Definition: surround or fill with a quality or influence, soak or saturate (cloth) in water or other liquid.

I just love to look at the definitions of words because it adds so much power. When you surround yourself, soak yourself in God-reality, God-initiative, and God-provision you will fulfill the will of God for you life. So be encouraged and STEEP yourself in what God has for you.
