When Failure Drops By
Many people would say yes. However, when life actually hits them, they are not as prepared as they think. I've experienced what most would label to be failures. I've had plenty to know that you have to be able to adjust to the changes of life instead of waiting for them to align your way. These couple of days in my life have been ROUGH to say the least. I've had some flops here and there and when I sit back right now as I type this post for you to read, I'm blown away by how much I have matured. In the past when things didn't go as planned, I would look to blame someone. I would complain, point fingers, and obtain an attitude that did not glorify God. Now, I look at what needed to be done better. When you see obstacles from a more puristic viewpoint with no bias or skewed viewpoint, you will more than likely gather a lesson from it as well.
I've learned many lessons from my pitfalls. I desire to lay out a few with you.
1) Move past you In the past when things didn't go well, I immediately obtained a selfish standpoint. It was about me. I wasn't happy. I wasn't pleased. Now, it's the reverse. I think about the people. I move past my little selfish feelings. Sometimes things fail for good reason. Maybe the proper work wasn't put in for it to be successful. Sometimes, it wasn't meant to lift off the ground. Maybe it wasn't meant to be done. Now, move on and keep on producing.
2) When dealing with failures that may involve other people, don't become a gossip groupie One of the most irritating things is hearing people talk about other people's failures or mistakes in a bad light. This goes back to the "Move Past You' point. Even when I've felt people did me wrong in some sort of way, I first make sure I have proper valid reasons for feeling that way. If I still feel the same way, I ask God to heal my heart of any bitter or spite I may have towards that individual. Bad-mouthing or gossiping about someone reveals issues you have within yourself. Even when things don't go the way you desire, keep God first and your mouth last.
3) Be ok with things sometimes not working out This is the hard one. Sometimes, it's really hard to see something not followed through the way you wanted it. You have to be fine with that and know that there is a tomorrow and another day after that.
4) Immediately create solutions, remove unneeded/unnecessary things, revise old strategies There are people who solve problems and there are people who dwell in their problems. Dwelling in your mess will allow failure to have an over-extended stay in your life. You have to figure out what went wrong, why it went wrong, and how to prevent it from happening again. Sometimes the solutions come from hearing others who have gone through the same thing offer their advice. Maybe it will come by reading a book on marketing strategies, branding, ect. Whatever you do, don't stay stuck. Keep on moving forward.
5) Don't stay guilty Many people can't move on because they have remained in a position where they have blamed themselves over and over for their failures. Maybe it was your fault and maybe it wasn't. Whatever the case may be, it's in the past. Stop focusing on what WENT wrong. In point 1, I noted that I used to blame other people for my failures. However, many blame themselves so much that it removes any hope of pressing forward. Don't do it. In order to move forward, you have to let go of the past, only taking the lessons you have learned with you.
